DP WORLD TOUR Q SCHOOL RESULTS

The DP World Tour Q School has finished and as usual there are plenty of stories, both heart warming and heart breaking.

A bunch of Ozzies teed it up at First Stage in September across various sites. Only Connor McKinney and Tyler Wood (NZ) were able to progress to Second Stage. Results were as follow:

First stage

  • Connor McKinney Hulencourt W2 T5 Q
  • Thomas Power Horan HelencourtW1 30th
  • Brady Watt The Players Club 41st
  • Billy Dowling Huddersfield 55th
  • Doug Klein 49 Northumberland Golf Club
  • Andrew Lautee 50 Northumberland Golf Club
  • Matias Sanchez 23 Donnington Grove Golf Club

Second stage was held over four courses in Spain. More players had direct entry into this stage. In addition to those who qualified from first stage we saw Quinnton Croker, Phoenix Campbell, Andrew Martin, Danny List (NZ), Tyler Hodge (NZ), Jack Thompson, William Bruyers and Daniel Gale.

From that list of 10 Connor McKinney, Quinnton Croker, Jack Thompson and Tyler Wood advanced to Final Stage. Wood was the medallist and Jack Thompson was T19 at Fontanals Golf Club, Croker finished T16 at Desert Springs whilst McKinney was T5 at Las Pinaillas.

Other notable players advancing from second stage were Englishman Eddie Pepperell and Scotsman Marc Warren.

At final stage those who had come through qualifiers were joined by direct entrants, Jack Buchanan, Curtis Luck, Harrison Crowe and Sam Jones (NZ).

Final Stage was six gruelling rounds from 7 to 12 November at Infinitum Golf Club in Spain. There was a cut after four rounds reducing the field to sixty for the final two rounds. Curtis Luck , Sam Jones, Tyler wood and Harrison Crowe missed the cut.

After 108 holes there were twenty players left standing with DP World cards for next season. From Australia only Connor McKinney (T2) survived and will play the European circuit next year.

Zander Lombard from Zimbabwe demolished the field finishing 13 shots clear of the group in second. Popular podcast host Eddie Pepperell regained his DP World Tour card in spectacular fashion with birdies on the last four holes to get inside the qualifying mark. Former DP World Tour player Shubhanker Sharma from India also made it through.

Thus ends the marathon that is DP World Tour Q School with McKinney surviving 13 rounds of golf to secure his card.
