HANNAH GREEN FALLS AT THE LAST HURDLE (BUNKER)

Hannah Greens return to form continued at the Maybank Championship in Malaysia. After winning with her Ozzie teammates at the International Crown last week Green showed again why she is ranked in the world top 20.

Hannah Green was soooo close to getting it done in Malaysia. In the final round an errant tee shot on 17 cost her a bogey when she put her drive into the water hazard. She made it up with birdie on the last which got her into the playoff with Miyu Yamashita from Japan and Hy-Jin Choi form Korea

After the drives on the first playoff hole, the par five 18th, Green looked to be in prime position. Choi had hooked her drive left with no path to the green and Yamashita was too far back to make the green in two. Then the good fortune which Green had benefited from through the last round deserted her in the playoff as her second into the par five came up short and plugged into the face of the greenside bunker. From there she fluffed the bunker shot and could only make a par. Yamashita converted her birdie chance from 20 feet and claimed the win.

However the return to form should be giving the Ozzie plenty of confidence as she heads into the end of the season. Whilst not reaching the heights of last seasons 3 wins she is back to playing the top shelf golf we are used to seeing from the West Australian. Green is skipping the event in Tokyo this week but returns for the last 2 events being the Annika starting 13 November and then the CME Championship on 20 November.
