Golf proves again what a cruel master it can be. After winning in Singapore and then a fortnight of dominance in Australia Hannah Green missed the cut in Las Vegas. Kelsey Bennett has had a flying start to her LET season with a win at the Australian Women's Classic and other top finishes and she also missed the cut. Other Ozzies Minjee Lee, Robyn Choi and Steph Kyriacou also missing the weekend.
Lauren Coughlin, back from injury, was one of the few players to get the better of the Shadow Creek course. She finished at seven under par, five ahead of the wonderfully consistent Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire. This is Coughlan’s third victory on the LPGA and puts her right back into Solheim Cup consideration.

Ozzies in the field: Karl Vilips
After a long delay due to some horrendous weather it was an intriguing final day. Matt Wallace set the pace with a great Sunday 68 and a score of sixteen under. Finishing well ahead of the last groups Wallace had to wait to see if he would add another PGA Tour victory to his CV or even be in a play-off. For a while it looked like that he might have done enough as Bob McIntyre faltered and J.J. Spaun bogeyed the fifteenth. But Spaun rallied with birdie on 16 and eagle on 17 to eventually take the win by a shot over Wallace, Macintyre, and Michael Kim.
J.J. Spaun 1st – USD $1,764,000

It’s hard to win golf tournaments – Asterisk Talley version. Talley held the 36 hole lead by one shot over Columbian Maria Jose Marin and the pair shared the lead with seven holes to play.
Standing on the 12th tee Marin had closed the gap and was level with Talley. Then the golf gods decided it was not going to be the American’s day and she proceeded to take a quadruple bogey on the most famous par three in golf. Her tee shot went long into the back bunker and she bladed her second into Rae's creek. With the option of playing from the dop zone or dropping in the bunker Talley chose the latter option and repeated her bladed shot into the water. Second time around she chose the drop zone and eventually holed out for a seven and her tournament was over.
Marin parred 12 and finished the remaining six holes one under to eventually win by four from Spain’s Andrea Revuelta.
Our only Ozzie in the field, Reagon Denton, had a fantastic tournament with rounds of 67, 72, 69 for a total of eight under and finished tied for fourth.
Maria Jose Marin (Columbia) 1st
Adrea Revuelta (Spain) 2nd
Soomin Oh (Korea) 3rd
