What a finish by Michael Hollick as he eagled the 72 hole to win by one shot from his compatriot Hennie Duplessis.
Thirty nine year old Hollick had given up golf just two years ago and w=gone back to coaching but after a comeback and success on the Sunshine Tour he is now a DP World Tour winner. Duplessis fell agonisingly short again. He led by three shots with two holes to play but a bogey on 17 and a par on the reachable par five 18th meant his 2nd runner up this season. He had some consolation in that his finish earned him entry to The Open at Royal Birkdale.
Winner of the European Swing was Eugenio Chacarra with his two wins. The series win gives Chacarra a bonus of $200,000 USD and entry into each of the back 9 tournaments.
None of the Ozzies made the cut.
