Scottie Scheffler starts his season on the PGA Tour and the first Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour is in Dubai. In Oz the Webex Series continues in Victoria.

WEEK 4– WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK
WEEK 4 sees some of the big guns start their seasons on the PGA Tour. Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Aberg and Justin Rose. The PGA Champions Tour gets underway for 2026 in Hawaii and the first DP World Tour Rolex event for the season is in Dubai.

WPGA & PGA Tour of Australasia
Tournament: Webex Player Series Victoria hosted by Marcus Fraser
Dates: 22 – 25 January
Course: Rosebud Country Club (Composite)
Purse: AUD $250,000
The Webex Series rolls on to the Rosebud Course in Victoria this week. Another great field of mainly Ozzie players teeing it up again vying for OOM points. Nathan Barbieri fresh from his gruelling second place last week is back again as is the winner, Cameron John. On the women’s side of the draw also sees last week’s winner, Lydia Hall playing again.

PGA Tour
Tournament: The American Express
Dates: 22-25 January
Course: La Quinta Country Club, Pete Dye Stadium Course, Nicklaus Tournament Course
Purse: USD $9.2M
Ozzies in the field: Min Woo Lee, Cam Davis, Karl Vilips, Jason Day, Adam Scott.
The first hitout this season for world number one, Scottie Scheffler. With nine of the world’s top twenty playing we should see some great golf at this pro-am format tournament. Each player plays the three different courses over the first three days with their pro am partner. Then there is a 54 hole cut and the final round is played at the Pete Dye Stadium Course.

PGA Champions Tour
Tournament: Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai
Dates: 22-24 January
Course: Hualalai Golf Course, Hawaii
Purse: USD $2.0M
Ozzies in the field: Steve Allen, Richard Green, Steve Alker (NZ)
The old guys kick off their season in Hawaii. Ozzie Richard Green will be looking to add to his win from last season at the Rogers Charity Classic. Kiwi Steve Alker is back on the hunt looking to add to his 10 wins and USD $12M in prizemoney on the Champions Tour. VJ Singh of course not in the field.
DP World Tour
Tournament: Hero Dubai Desert Classic
Dates: 22-25 January
Course: Emirates GC, Dubai
Purse: USD $9.0M
Ozzies in the field: Jason Scrivener, David Micheluzzi, Elvis Smylie, Kazuma Kobori (NZ), Ryan Fox (NZ), Daniel Hillier (NZ)
The first Rolex Series event of the DP World Tour season and there are plenty of big names to watch including Rory McIlroy, Tyrell Hatton (defending champion), Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Patrick Reed, Viktor Hovland, Dustin Johnson.
Plenty of LIV Golf representation including three of this seasons new signings, Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry andElvis Smylie.
For fans of the popular podcast ‘The Chipping Forecast’ co-host Eddie Pepperell has received an invite and is playing this week.
Legends Tour

Amateur Golf
Tournament: Avondale Medal (men) and Avondale Bowl (women)
Dates: 20-21 January
Course: Avondale Golf Club
Lots of big names have their names on these trophies including in 2020 Grace Kim and Nathan Barbieri, Jeffrey Guan (2023) and Declan O’Donovan in 2024 and 2025. Ella Scaysbrook was the women’s winner in 2025 and in 2022 it was Kirsten Rudgeley.
