What's on This Week - Week 4 2

Another big week for Ozzie golfers in the west. The Race to Dubai heads to India. Ozzies fighting for OOM glory and the LPGA swings into Shanghai. Can an Ozzie go back to back in South Africa?

What's on This Week - Week 4 2

Sunshine Tour

Tournament: Blu Label Unlimited Challenge

Dates: 14-17 October

Course: Lost City Golf Course

Purse: R3,200,000

Ozzies in the field: Austin Batista

Austin Bautista is coming off a win last week and sits in second place on the OOM. Still a long way to go on this Tour but Bautista has committed to the Sunshine Tour this year in contrast to last year when he tried to play both the Sunshine Tour and the Challenger Tour of Australasia. He is really focussed on the OOM and getting himself to Europe.

LPGA

Tournament: Buick LPGA Shanghai

Dates: 15-18 October

Course: Seshan Golf Club

Purse: USD $3.2M

Ozzies in the field: Minjee Lee, Grace Kim, Cassie Porter, Robyn Choi, Karis Davidson

The LPGA swings into China and this is the first time this tournament has been played at this venue in its six year history. Most of the Ozzies have made the trip. Hannah Green is not playing and neither is Steph Kyriacou who may have been one of the players stranded by the cancellation of Qualifying Stage of Q Series in Florida this week.

LETAS

Tournament: Calatayud Ladies Open

Dates: 14-16 October

Course: Gambito Golf Calatayud

Purse: €50,000

Ozzies in the field: Kristalle Blum, Hannah Reeves, Belinda Ji

Belinda Ji had a great tournament last week so can she back it up this week or can one of our other Ozzies push up to the top of the leaderboard. Hannah Reeve is the most likely to get into the coveted top 7 positions for LET promotion. Ji and Kristalle Blum would need a win and top tens in the final three tournaments to make it.

PGA Tour of Australasia

Tournament: WA Open

Dates: 15-18 October

Course: Secret Harbour Golf Links, Rockingham WA

Purse: AUD $250,000

Ozzies in the field: LOTS

The Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia stays in the west this week with the WA Open. South African Oli Dekker returns to defend the title he won at Mt. Lawley last year.

European players Connor McKinney, Hayden Hopewell & Haydn Barron are playing this week. Ryan Peake was entered but received a late callup to the DP World India Open so is in Delhi instead of Rockingham.

PGA Champions Tour

Tournament: SAS Championship

Dates: 16-18 October

Course: Prestonwood Country Club

Purse: USD $2.3M

Ozzies in the field: Stuart Appleby, David Bansdon (2nd alternate), Greg Chalmers, Matthew Goggin, Richard Green, Rod Pampling, Cam Percy, John Senden, Michael Wright

This is the last tournament before the three tournament playoff series commences. Points for all three playoff events are doubled. Only the top 72 advance to the first playoff tournament – The Stifel Charity Classic, then the field is reduced to the top 54 for the second event – The Simmons Bank Championship, and finally the Charles Schwab Cup Championship is fought out between the top 36 players.

So time for John Senden and Matthew Goggin to get to the top of the leaderboard if they want to play next week. Goggin sits at 74 and Senden at 100 so need to accumulate points this week.
