WEEK 48– WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK

LPGA

The LPGA season is officially over but there are still two events on the calendar. The Final Stage of Q Series start 4 December and is contested over five rounds at Magnolia Grove in Alabama. Then the Grant Thornton Invitational starts on 12 December. Sixteen mixed teams play three rounds consisting of one round each of scramble, Foursomes (alternate shot) and a modified fourball.

LET

Tournament: Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open de Espana

Dates: 27 November – 30 November

Course: Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, Malaga, Spain

Purse:€700,000

Ozzies in the field: Kelsey Bennet, Kirsten Rudgeley, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard, Sarah Kemp, Amelia Garvey (NZ), Momoka Kobori (NZ),

The season finale for the LET where the top 70 from the season (and some invites) fight it out for one last time. Fantastic to see Kempy getting a start and hoping she has a great week. Kelsey Bennett is due to shine and have a big one to finish the season.

The other big interest will be who wins the Order of Merit. Shannon Tan leads going into the week but Mimi Rhodes is hot on her heels. Third place CassandraAlexander can’t get past Tan even with a win so it’s down to Tan and Rhodes. The winner of the OOM gets three years exemption on the LET and top ten at the end of this week get entry to the final stage of LPGA Q series.

AUS PGA Tour and DP World Tour

No less than fifty DP World Tour players are teeing it up at Royal Queensland. Then there are the best of the AUSPGA Ozzies battling it out with the stars. Notables are Matias Sanchez, Austin Batista, Cory Crawford and Cameron John.

Just a magnificent field and a testament to Golf Australia for having these co-sanctioned events.

For those who follow the popular podcast The Chipping Forecast it will be an opportunity to see co-host Eddie Pepperell live as he has come downunder to hopefully get some early seasons success and bolster his ranking for more playing opportunities later in the year.

Another opportunity to qualify for the Ford NSW Open at Wollongong in Feb/March 2026. Kelsey Macdonald from Scotland and England’s Billy Jo-Smith, both on the LET are downunder and entered for this event, the qualifier at Narrabri and the WPGA qualifier in Coolangatta.
