Ozzies in the field: June Song, Claire Shin, Elmay Viking (Cook Islands), Hanee Song (NZ), Stephanie Bunque, Grace Williams, Abbie Teasdale.

It would be great to see some more Ozzies playing the LET next season and this is where the quest for that starts. Qualifying Stage is 54 holes with no cut. Total field across the four venues is 312 and approximately 25 from each course will advance to the Final Stage the following week.

PGA Tour

Tournament: Final Stage Q School

Dates: 11- 14 December

Course: TPC Sawgrass & Sawgrass Country Club

Ozzies in the field: Trav Smyth

Just another 72 holes of stroke play to see who can get one of the elusive five PGA Tour cards on offer. The remaining finishers get Korn Ferry Status in priority order of their finish. Positions 6-25 earn full KFT with safety until the third re-shuffle of priority. Positions 26-40 also get full status but are only protected until the second re-shuffle and everyone else gets status but are subject to the first re-shuffle so you had better a) get into some tournaments, and b) play very well. As usual there will be hearbreak and joy.

DP World Tour

Tournament: Alfred Dunhill Championship

Dates: 11-14 December

Course: Royal Johannesburg Club, Johannesburg, South Africa

Purse: €1.5M

Ozzies in the field: Austin Bautista

This Dunhill event is a traditional 72 hole stroke play with no amateur teams. This year the tournament is leaving its home of Leopard Creek and returning to Royal Johannesburg Club for one year only to allow Lepard Creek to recover from stress from a period of intense hot weather.

WPGA Tour

A truly international field competing at this year’s qualifying tournament to see who can get starts in the big WPGA tournaments coming up in 2026. Seventeen players from Japan are playing plus players from England, Scotland, South Korea, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. So there is plenty of competition for our young Ozzie stars to earn spots in the prestigious events on the calendar.

Independent

Tournament: Cathedral Invitational

Dates: 9-10 December

Course: Cathedral Lodge

Purse: AUD $300,000 min.

Forty men and eight women play this invitation only event over two days at the private Cathedral Lodge owned by David Evans. The course is said to be magnificent. On day one the pros are teamed up with amateurs for a shotgun start and no spectators are allowed. Day two sees only the pros with a regular seeded draw and the public can come and watch. A great chance to go and see this private Greg Norman course.
